GW&K Investment Management Announces Retirement of Senior Fixed Income Investment Professional

BOSTON, MA – January 31, 2023 – GW&K Investment Management (GW&K), an entrepreneurial-driven investment management firm offering active equity and fixed-income investment solutions to meet the needs of a diverse client base, today announced that Nancy G. Angell, Partner and Co-Director of Fixed Income investments at the firm, will retire at year end.

There is no doubt that her many contributions to the firm have made an impact that will last for years to come. Nancy will always be a part of GW&K and we are pleased that she will remain with the firm through 2023.”

Angell has dedicated her entire career at GW&K to helping build and grow the firm’s municipal bond capabilities and relationships. She became a member of the firm’s municipal bond team in 1984 after graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Duke University. Angell was promoted to Portfolio Manager and Partner in 1989.

In 2001, Angell and John Fox were appointed Co-Directors of Fixed Income. In this role, she has shared overall responsibility for the management of fixed income assets, including portfolio management, research, and trading. Angell is also a member of the firm’s Management and Investment Committees.

Angell will continue to work with the municipal bond investment team through December 2023. The team is comprised of 16 seasoned investment professionals averaging 22 years experience and 17 years with GW&K. Of the firm’s nearly $47 billion in equity and fixed income assets under management (as of 12/31/2022), $30 billion are invested in municipal bond assets.

Angell earned her MBA with high honors in Finance from Boston University. She is a CFA® charterholder and is a member of the CFA Institute, the CFA Society Boston, the Boston Municipal Analysts Forum, and the National Federation of Municipal Analysts.
