Brendan is responsible for analyzing and trading securitized products across GW&K’s Taxable Bond Strategies and serves as a portfolio manager for the Government Bond Strategy. He oversees investment strategy related to securitized assets with a primary focus on valuing opportunities, security selection, and managing exposure. Brendan is a member of the firm’s Investment Committee.
Most recently Brendan was an assistant portfolio manager at Federal Home Loan Bank of Boston responsible for trading agency mortgage-backed securities and managing a $3.5 billion whole loan mortgage portfolio. He was also a vice president with Newfleet Asset Management, where he built proprietary analytical tools to improve the management of mortgage-backed securities (MBS). Brendan spent seven years at Securities Finance and Trust Company where he was responsible for a $10 billion portfolio mainly consisting of non-agency residential MBS.
Brendan received a BS in Accounting from Quinnipiac University and an MBA with distinction from S.C. Johnson Graduate School of Management at Cornell University.
My previous hands-on experience managing, financing, trading, and hedging portfolios of whole loan mortgages, asset backed securities, agency and non-agency MBS provided me with a deep understanding of the sector.
