Despite having zero long-distance running experience, I couldn’t pass up the chance to support the Kozlowski Fund for Cardiac Family Care at Boston Children’s Hospital. So, alongside three friends, I took on an incredible challenge: not just running the 2016 Boston Marathon but also raising a substantial amount in donations for a worthy cause. The months of grueling winter training runs? Definitely not something I’m eager to repeat. But the journey — the unwavering support, the sheer determination, and the overwhelming sense of purpose — was nothing short of life-changing. It shaped me in ways I never expected, and for that, I’m forever grateful.
